Hair Care - Facts and Techniques You Need to Learn

I started my career as a beautician at seven when I opened my own bedroom salon. I painted nails, braided hair, and I even applied makeup like a pro. You can say that I have always had an interest in beauty, and I naturally attended beauty school immediately after I graduated high school. When the time came to find a job, I started my own salon with a small loan from my mother. I wanted my salon to be special, so I worked with clients to teach them what I knew about hair care techniques. Throughout the years, I have learned that most people know very little about their hair. They believe that the hair needs to be washed every day and they also think that conditioner is enough to treat dry locks. I started this blog so I could educate the public on a larger scale about hair care.

Adjusting To Life With Your Medical Human Hair Wig

Losing your hair due to a medical condition or treatment can be an embarrassing situation. However, there are medical human hair wigs that can allow these patients to avoid many of the self-esteem issues that can accompany hair loss.

How Will Storing The Wig On A Dummy Head Benefit It?

Whenever you are not wearing your human hair wig, it should be kept on a mannequin head. These heads will ensure that the wig retains the correct shape so that it will fit you the next time that you need to wear it. If you store the wig without placing it on one of these heads, you could find that the wig may be too warped or stretched to be comfortably or discretely worn.

Is It Necessary To Wash A Human Hair Wig?

As with your natural hair, the hair that is used to make these wigs will become dirty over time. This is largely due to the hair absorbing oils from the scalp and collecting dirt or dust from the air. Failing to clean your wig can degrade its appearance, lead to it developing an unpleasant smell, and cause it to experience significant discoloration. Regularly washing the wig will help to avoid this problem, but you will want to be extremely gentle when washing it. At a minimum, this will include using your fingers to rub a small amount of shampoo into the hairs before rinsing them. Some individuals may attempt to completely soak the hair by submerging it, but this can damage the bindings that hold the hairs to the cap. As such, this should be avoided. The wig will also need to be air-dried as this will avoid exposing it to high temperatures that could damage it.

Why Is It Advised To Style The Human Hair Wig Before You Place It On Your Head?

When individuals first start wearing a medical human hair wig, they may be surprised that they are advised to style the wig while it is still on the mannequin head before putting it on. However, it can be surprisingly difficult to style a wig while it is currently on your head. In addition to making it harder to get the styled look that you are wanting, this can also make it easier to accidentally damage the wig by being too rough when styling it. By styling the hair while it is still on the mannequin head, you will be able to ensure you only need to touch up the wig after you put it on your head.
