Hair Care - Facts and Techniques You Need to Learn

I started my career as a beautician at seven when I opened my own bedroom salon. I painted nails, braided hair, and I even applied makeup like a pro. You can say that I have always had an interest in beauty, and I naturally attended beauty school immediately after I graduated high school. When the time came to find a job, I started my own salon with a small loan from my mother. I wanted my salon to be special, so I worked with clients to teach them what I knew about hair care techniques. Throughout the years, I have learned that most people know very little about their hair. They believe that the hair needs to be washed every day and they also think that conditioner is enough to treat dry locks. I started this blog so I could educate the public on a larger scale about hair care.

4 Signs Of A Qualified Laser Hair Removal Clinic

If you want to get rid of some unwanted hair on your body, you need to make sure that you understand how laser hair removal treatment works and what to look for in a qualified laser hair treatment facility.

#1 Make Sure The Laser Technician Is Certified

The first thing that you want to do is make sure that the laser technician at the clinic you are talking with is certified. They should have specific training and hold a laser hair removal training certification from the state that they practice in. You don't want to just let a general beautician perform this procedure; you should only allow someone who has undergone and passed specific training to do this procedure on you.

#2 Check The Quality Of The Equipment

Second, you need to make sure that the equipment the facility uses is up to current medical standards. The equipment that they use should be medical grade. You can tell if the equipment is medical grade it is is approved by the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA). The clinic should be able to provide you with proof that its equipment meets TGA standards and is TGA certified. You don't want to use equipment that has not been tested in the medical community for this procedure.

#3 Learn About Before & After Care

Third, any high-quality laser hair removal clinic should be able to tell you about how to properly prepare your skin before your treatment and how to take care of it after your treatment. You are most likely going to be advised to not shave before your treatment for a set amount of time, and to come in without any lotions on your skin for the treatment. You should also be advised of how long to wait to shave and use lotions again after your treatment, as well as what ointments will best help your skin heal.

#4 How Long The Treatment Will Take

Finally, any quality clinic should be able to give you an idea of how many treatments your specific skin type will need in order for all the hair in that area to be removed. Laser hair removal therapy is a process, that will take multiple treatments over several months, in order to produce results. You should not expect, nor should any clinic promise you, immediate results.

If you want to have laser hair therapy performed, make sure that the clinic uses medical grade equipment, as well as a licensed and specially trained technician who is able to provide you with accurate medical care tips for your treatment as well as an idea of how long and how many treatments you'll need to see the final results.
