Hair Care - Facts and Techniques You Need to Learn

I started my career as a beautician at seven when I opened my own bedroom salon. I painted nails, braided hair, and I even applied makeup like a pro. You can say that I have always had an interest in beauty, and I naturally attended beauty school immediately after I graduated high school. When the time came to find a job, I started my own salon with a small loan from my mother. I wanted my salon to be special, so I worked with clients to teach them what I knew about hair care techniques. Throughout the years, I have learned that most people know very little about their hair. They believe that the hair needs to be washed every day and they also think that conditioner is enough to treat dry locks. I started this blog so I could educate the public on a larger scale about hair care.

Stand Out From The Crowd: 3 Eye Makeup Tips That Will Make Your Eyes Pop

Beauty & Fashion Articles

Your eyes are the windows to your soul. They are one of the first features that other people notice and can make your facial features stand out. If you want to look ready for the red carpet, here are 3 eye makeup tips that will really help make your eyes pop.

Draw Attention by Highlighting Your Eyes

If you're a fan of contouring, you know just how much shading and highlighting different areas of your face can make a difference to your overall look. You want to attract other people's attention to your eyes and make various areas of your eyes stand out by highlighting certain areas. Highlighting brings structure and balance.

Use a highlighting pen or a light concealer to highlight the area just under the brow bone, the middle of your eyes and the tear ducts. Make sure you blend thoroughly for the highlighting to look natural. By highlighting under the brow bone, you are essentially giving yourself a brow lift. It will make your eyes appear more alert and alive. Highlighting the middle of your eyes makes your eyes appear more contoured while highlighting the tear ducts will give you a well-rested look.

Give Yourself Fuller Lashes with Tightlining

Your eyelashes add a lot of definition to your eyes. Not everyone has been blessed with full, thick lashes. If you have sparse lashes, tightlining is a trick that you absolutely need to learn. It's also a great way to look like you're not wearing makeup when you actually are.

To do this, you will need an eyeliner with an extremely thin tip. You want to apply the liner right in between your lashes. You're basically jabbing the eyeliner into your lashes. If you're working on your upper lashes, you'll probably have to fill in the waterline. This technique makes your lashes appear thicker, which in turn makes your eyes look more dreamy and feminine.

Tightlining requires you to work in the 'splash zone'. This means that your eyes may make natural lubricants and fluids that will end up washing away your efforts throughout the day. To prevent this from happening, make sure you use a waterproof eyeliner – whether you choose to go with pencil, liquid or gel.

Don't Ever Forget the Mascara

Longer lashes will give you a dreamier and more feminine look. If you're a fan of false eyelashes, you can easily achieve any look you want; however, if you're going to be working with what your genetics gave you, you'll need an excellent mascara. Coat your eyelashes with several layers of mascara. Hold a business card or a piece of paper behind your lashes before applying the mascara in back and forth motion to prevent the mascara from accidentally getting onto your eyelids. This will also allow you to coat each eyelash to the tip with ease.

Don't forget to replace your mascara every 3 to 4 months because your mascara will eventually start to dry up and clump. To delay the clumping, be careful not to pump your mascara when you use it. Also, add a couple drops of eyedrops to soften the mascara. Don't forget to curl your lashes beforehand in order to open up your eyes.

Conclusion

Most people spend the most time on their eye makeup because it's the first facial feature that others notice. Before you start trying some of the more fancy techniques and styles, make sure you have perfected the basics, as it makes a huge difference. By perfecting your eyeliner technique later on, you can get your eyes to take on different shapes for different makeup styles. You can easily achieve the same sultry look that Megan Fox has or the doe-eyed look of Zooey Deschanel. You can also check out companies like Lili Buzz for more makeup tips.
